Take A Stand For The Arts!
Naugatuck Needs An Arts Center

As you are aware Alex Conroy of the Conroy Development Company, a developer of real estate, has been designated to redevelop the entire Naugatuck downtown and riverfront areas. The details of this may be read by visiting http://www.naugatuckrenaissanceplace.com.

What Is An Arts Center?

Imagine, right here in Naugatuck, a center where youth and adults alike could go and be a part of the arts. A place where choir, band and theater rehearsals and perfomances will bring artists together from throughout the region. A locale that has visual art on display at all times for people to see. Envision a 300-500 seat state of the art theater where plays, musicals, concerts and movies take place on a regular basis. Take a moment to picture this in the heart of Down Town Naugatuck. Imagine a true renaissance place where the arts and humanities are practiced in the center of the new economic vision that will be our town's future.

Just imagine.......

Why Do We Need An Arts Center?

Why? Consider these points :
  • Arts = $$$$
  • We have a wealth of talent
  • The arts in Naugatuck have been recognized as an economic asset by both the Mount Auburn study and the Valley Arts Assessment
  • We already have a theater
  • An arts center could be used for both artistic and corporate functions
  • Towns that use the arts as a focal point tend to attract high end consumers that spend money

Send an e-mail to Mr. Conroy and the developers charged with the task of revitalizing downtown Naugatuck. Emphasize your feelings that an arts and entertainment center is essential to the Naugatuck Renaisance! The iron is hot so strike it! If we don't we may miss a once in a lifetime chance to lock the arts into the economic fabric of this town.
